Our lunches are planned and prepared with the five food groups in mind: grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, and meat/beans. We watch the caloric content, keeping the fat intake to 30%-35% of the daily total. We provide morning, and afternoon snacks. We realize little people’s tummies need frequent small feedings. We also know how picky children can be especially during the toddler years and we encourage them to try new things but let them choose if it is palatable to them or not. Our teachers enjoy eating with the students and want these times to feel like “together-time” for them and the children.
